Wedding photography trends for 2025 that you won't want to miss out on

Every year, weddings evolve, and I love to keep an eye out for new trends in wedding photography as they emerge. For 2025, there are already some trends that are starting to make a difference, and as a photographer, it's exciting to see how couples are looking for more creative and personal ways to document their big day. Here I want to share some of the trends I'm looking forward to capturing this year, because not only do they offer new opportunities for creativity, but they also reflect the changes in how we see and experience weddings.

1. Focus on sustainability

A rapidly growing trend is that of sustainable weddings, and this is also reflected in photography. More and more couples are looking for environmentally friendly weddings, opting for outdoor locations, recyclable decorations or even second-hand wedding dresses. As a photographer, this gives me the opportunity to capture the connection between the couple and nature, creating images that feel closer and more authentic.

When photographing sustainable weddings, I like to pay special attention to the small details: wild flowers, handmade decorations and natural settings that enhance the beauty of the moment. In addition, many of these events are held in locations such as farms or natural spaces, which allows me to make the most of the natural light to create photos full of life and harmony.

2. More natural and spontaneous photographs

Another important trend for 2025 is the focus on more natural and spontaneous photographs. Couples are no longer looking for so many forced poses, but for authentic moments that capture the real emotions of the day. I love this trend because it reflects my own style of photography. I think the most beautiful photos are the ones that come out spontaneously, without forcing the couple to pose in a certain way.

Those moments when the bride and groom look into each other's eyes, laugh together or share a heartfelt embrace are what really tell the story of the day. For me, the most important thing is to be present in those moments without interrupting, capturing the magic as it happens. 3. Creative use of light and shadow

Light has always been one of the key elements in wedding photography, but by 2025, I see a growing trend towards more artistic and dramatic use of light and shadow. Photographers are experimenting with new techniques to create lighting effects that add a cinematic touch to photos, and this is something I'm passionate about exploring.

In particular, the interplay between natural light and shadows creates a unique atmosphere, giving depth and emotion to the images. When I photograph in places like the Alhambra or the historic corners of Granada, I love to take advantage of the soft light of the sunset or the light filtering through the trees to highlight the details and emotions of the couple.

4. Aerial photography with drones

Aerial photography is gaining popularity and by 2025, this trend is expected to continue to grow. Drones allow you to capture unique angles and panoramic views that were previously impossible, adding a new dimension to wedding photography. Although it is not always possible to use them in all locations, when it is, the aerial photos can be spectacular.

Imagine capturing your wedding from the sky, with the Alhambra in the background or the golden fields of an estate on the outskirts of Granada. These images not only offer a unique perspective, but can also be the perfect complement to tell the story of your day from every angle.

5. Personalised and creative wedding albums

One of the most beautiful trends that are taking hold for 2025 is the creation of personalised and unique wedding albums. Couples are no longer looking for the typical traditional albums, but something more personalised to reflect their style and personality. From handmade bindings to interactive digital albums, the options are endless.

I love working with my couples to design albums that tell their story in a creative way. Every wedding is unique, and the album should reflect that. Whether it's a minimalist design or something more elaborate, the important thing is that the result is a memory they can treasure forever.

My vision of wedding photography trends for 2025

I can't wait to see how these wedding photography trends come to life in 2025, and to be able to capture them with my camera is something I'm deeply excited about. Wedding photography is constantly evolving, but what never changes is the essence: telling stories of love through images that reflect the authenticity and beauty of the moment.

If you are planning your wedding in 2025, I would love to join you on this adventure and help you capture those unique moments that will make your day truly unforgettable.
