Autumn is one of my favourite seasons for photographing weddings in Granada. There is something magical about the way the warm colours of the season mix with the soft light of the sun, creating an intimate and cosy atmosphere that adds a special touch to every image. Autumn weddings have a unique atmosphere, full of golds, oranges and reds that contrast with the white of the wedding dress and the elegance of the details. As a photographer, I always aim to capture that perfect combination of light, colour and emotion that makes every wedding unforgettable.
Autumn colours: a warm and vibrant palette
Autumn in Granada transforms the landscape, and I love how the warm tones of fallen leaves and golden foliage become the perfect backdrop for a wedding. Nature is dressed in vibrant tones, and as a photographer, it's a delight to play with these colours in every image. Deep reds, oranges and golds blend with the soft light of the autumn sun, creating a warm atmosphere that enhances every detail.
I like to capture the contrasts between these tones and the surroundings, from the gardens of the Generalife to the streets of the Albaicín. The result is images full of life, where each colour brings a sense of warmth and romance. The soft golden light of autumn
One of the things I love most about autumn is the quality of the light. At this time of year, the sunlight is softer and more golden, which makes for much warmer and cosier photos. Unlike summer, where the midday light can be harsher, in autumn the best times to photograph are just before sunset, when the sun bathes the city in a golden light that enhances the colours and creates a magical atmosphere.
I always suggest to couples that we take advantage of this golden hour to take couple photos, as the light is simply perfect for capturing those intimate and romantic moments. Granada, with its historic architecture and natural landscape, becomes an even more special place in this light, and the result is photos full of magic.
Unforgettable moments in an autumnal setting
Autumn brings not only special colours and light, but also an atmosphere that invites intimacy and closeness. I love to capture those spontaneous moments when the couple is carried away by the emotion of the day, such as an embrace under the fallen leaves or a shared smile while strolling through a garden. It is these moments, full of naturalness and emotion, that really tell the story of the wedding.
Granada offers perfect settings to create these unforgettable memories. From the cobbled streets of the Albaicín to the gardens of Carmen de los Mártires, every corner of the city has its own magic. And in autumn, that magic is multiplied by the light and colours of the season.
My approach to autumn weddings
When photographing autumn weddings, my aim is always to capture the essence of the day in the most natural way possible. I like to focus on the details, the genuine emotion of the couple and how the light and surroundings combine to create unique images. Autumn inspires me to play with light and colour in creative ways, always looking to capture those moments that will make you relive your big day every time you look at the photos.
If you are thinking of getting married in autumn and being one of those autumn weddings, I encourage you to make the most of this magical season. Granada is the perfect setting for a wedding full of unforgettable moments, and I would love to be part of your day and capture those moments that you will remember forever.
