Wedding in the Botanical Garden of La Concepción

A wedding in the botanical garden of Malaga.

Before Marina and Paco's wedding, I was familiar with the La Concepción Botanical Garden in Malaga because I had done a couple's session there. The idea of a wedding in this space seemed very original to me and when they told me that the celebration would take place there, I was delighted because for any wedding photographer this space makes the imagination fly as it has many beautiful corners.

The La Concepción Botanical Garden in Malaga is one of the most charming and beautiful spaces in the city. Created around 1855 by the Marquises of Casa Loring, and later extended by the Echevarría-Echevarrieta family, it consists of an open-air collection of tropical and subtropical flora with plant species from almost every corner of the world.

Each of the bride and groom chose to dress in their parents' home surrounded by their family. For this special occasion, Marina opted for a bespoke dress inspired by her grandmother's dressing gown, which combined with a wild bouquet and a headdress made with olive leaves and bread and stock resulted in a very natural look.

The ceremony was held in the Church of San Miguel de Miramar in the Limonar neighbourhood where Marina grew up. It was a beautiful ceremony where there was laughter and tears of emotion at the words of the sisters of both of them. Afterwards, after a shower of olive leaves at the exit of the bride and groom, we moved to the Botanical Garden where the couple received all their guests.

The dinner was held in front of the Casa Palacio under a roof of lights that provided a very cosy and festive atmosphere. All the wedding decoration was done by As Decoración de eventos who did an incredible job of lighting and floral decoration in the purest tropical style that blended perfectly with the space.

The bride and groom's first dance and party took place at the Cenador, where the wedding guests enjoyed themselves until the early hours of the morning.

As a wedding photographer in Granada it was a pleasure to travel to Malaga and enjoy the experience of photographing a wedding in the Botanical Garden of Malaga.
